The Economic Development Specialist will conduct program administration of multiple economic development-related programs, administer the Village’s business license program and directly process all license applications; provide general office and customer service support including, answering customer questions, providing backup front desk support, assisting in the processing of payments and performing data entry (invoices and permits) into Village systems.


Requirements of Work:

  • Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field and two years of related work experience
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook; and, strong analytical and writing/typing skills using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Competencies: Dependable research, writing, and public communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; and basic understanding of land use planning, economic development, and development process

Full Time Planner Position

Anderson Township

Anderson Township, Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Planner position.

Located immediately east of the City of Cincinnati, in Hamilton County, Ohio, Anderson Township is a progressive community of approximately 44,000 residents. The Planner position will assist the Planning and Zoning Director in land use planning, zoning administration, code enforcement, project management, and other duties. This position will also provide assistance to Department customers at the reception area, on phone calls, and through other contact measures. The Planner will be responsible for developing services activities such as processing zoning applications/certificates, conducting zoning inspections, responding to requests for information, providing staff support to zoning-related committees, and GIS mapping. This individual will also assist with other activities, including a work-study program that includes ongoing initiatives in the Township.

  • Applicants must have an understanding of land use planning, strong written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of computer applications related to planning and geographic information systems. 
  • Applicants must already have at least a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field or be within three months of completing such a degree. 
  • Applicants should have at least one (1) year of planning experience (including internships) or at least three (3) years of experience in a similar position. 
  • Prior local government experience is preferred. 
  • A Master’s degree may substitute for formal planning experience. 
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
