Associate Planner

Town of McCordsville

Location: McCordsville, IN

Compensation Range: $29.00-30.15 per hour

Position Description: The Town of McCordsville, a fast growing suburb of Indianapolis, is seeking to fill a full-time Associate Planner position in the Planning & Building Department. The Associate Planner is responsible for conducting plan and permit reviews, administering the Zoning and Subdivision Control Ordinances, and assisting the Department in long-range planning efforts. The successful applicant will interact with developers, general public, elected officials, and various departments and agencies. The Associate Planner will be asked to lead the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), while providing staff guidance and technical assistance to the Architectural Review Committee (ARC), Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) and Plan Commission (PC). This position is responsible for the management of projects submitted to the Town, ensuring projects meets Town codes, and follow all steps of the public review process. Planner I

Anderson Township

Location: Anderson Township, Ohio

Compensation Range: $22-26/hour

Position Description: The Planner I position will assist the Planning and Zoning Director in land use planning, zoning administration, and code enforcement, while also being provided the opportunity work independently and with Township and community teams to introduce and/or advance community initiatives. The Planner I will be responsible for development services activities such as processing zoning applications/certificates, conducting zoning inspections, responding to requests for information, fostering the efforts of volunteer committees, geographic information systems (GIS) mapping, and a variety of other opportunities. Compensation Range: $60,000.00

Position Description: Oversees the development, review and approval process including location improvement permits, rezonings, subdivisions, site development plans, special uses, regulatory variances, and floodplain management. Presents growth management control actions to the Area Plan Commission, Area Board of Zoning Appeals, and applicable local legislative bodies. Research and report to Area Plan Commission of funding opportunities through grants and loans for planning and zoning initiatives. Attends and presents at a substantial number of public meetings, including evening meetings. Implements Comprehensive Plan or other community planning projects. Represents the organization on regional/local boards. Prepares department operations budget for approval by the County Council.
